Ruben Herrera - Club Director

Lifelong passion for coaching volleyball dating back to his “gym rat” days in South Texas
Returned to volleyball in 2012 to take over Vegas Encore Volleyball Club
Became Head Coach and Club Director of Vegas Aces in 2014
Currently serves as President of the Vegas Thrill, Las Vegas’ professional women’s volleyball team competing in Major League Volleyball (MLV)
Helped expand Vegas Aces into a program consistently competing against top clubs throughout Southern California and nationally
Continues to oversee the development and competitive direction of Vegas Aces Volleyball Club

2021 USAV Gold Medal – 14U Patriot Division
2021 USAV Silver Medal – 18U USA Division
2018 USAV National Champion – 15U USA Division
2018 USAV National Champion – 14U National Division
5th Place finish – 16U National Division at the 2026 USAV National Championships
5th Place finish – 16U at the 2025 AAU National Championships
Made Vegas Aces history in 2026 by leading the 12U team to qualify for the National Division – the highest division offered for the 12U age group
Multiple teams qualified for the USAV Open Division, including 15U and 16U teams
Led the 12U team to a Windy City National Qualifier Championship in 2016

75+ athletes have gone on to play volleyball at the collegiate level
Athletes have continued their careers at NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA and junior college programs
Players have advanced to programs including Pitt, Penn State, UCLA, Utah, BYU, GCU, Indiana, Air Force, San Diego State, Cal Poly SLO, Santa Clara, Portland, and UNLV.
Also helped athletes advance to programs including Cal State Stanislaus, Southwest Minnesota State and New Mexico Military Institute
